Affiliate Disclosure

The short version: Some links on this site earn us a small commission if you apply or sign up. It costs you nothing extra, and it never changes which products we recommend.

How We Make Money

KillTheFee.com is a free, independent publishing site. To keep the lights on, some of the links on our pages are affiliate links. This means if you click a link and apply for a credit card, open a bank account, or sign up for a financial product, we may receive a commission from the financial institution or affiliate network — at no additional cost to you.

We participate in affiliate programs including but not limited to:

How It Affects Our Rankings

It doesn't — at least, not in the way you might expect. Our editorial rankings are based on independent research: rewards rates, fees, terms, customer service ratings, and real-world usability. We do not sell top placements or accept payment for positive reviews.

That said, we may prioritize reviewing products for which affiliate relationships exist, simply because we can only cover so much ground. We will always tell you when a product doesn't have an affiliate relationship if it's our top recommendation anyway — because our credibility matters more than any single commission.

FTC Compliance

In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), we disclose that material connections exist between KillTheFee.com and companies whose products appear on this site. This page, along with the brief disclosure notice on each article, satisfies that requirement.
